The STIHL FS 461 C-EM Brushcutter is a professional petrol-driven clearing saw built for landscape maintenance professionals, farmers and municipal operators working across large areas with tough grass, tangled brushwood and dense ground cover. With a 520 mm cutting diameter, the FS 461 C-EM delivers very fast working progress even in the most demanding conditions.

STIHL M-Tronic 3.0 is the fully electronic engine management system of this generation: it regulates ignition timing and fuel metering in real time, accounting for temperature, altitude and fuel quality. The result is optimum engine performance and consistent maximum speed under any working condition, with no need for manual adjustments. The STIHL 2-MIX engine meets EU Stage V standards and delivers high torque with low fuel consumption and reduced emissions.

Starting is made easy by STIHL ErgoStart: a smooth, even pull on the starter cord is all it takes, with no sudden jerks. The manual fuel pump reduces the number of pulls needed after extended breaks. The integrated carburettor compensator keeps performance, exhaust quality and fuel consumption virtually constant even as the air filter becomes progressively contaminated, eliminating unnecessary maintenance stops during work. The large-capacity translucent fuel tank extends working intervals between refuels.

The gearbox has been technically enhanced with updated sealing, main bearing and lubricant circulation for greater robustness and a longer service life. The redesigned deflector simplifies storage and improves visibility of the cutting attachment during work. The STIHL 4-point anti-vibration system significantly reduces vibration levels during partial-load operation, relieving stress on muscles and joints.

The ADVANCE Grip handles provide innovative ergonomics with multiple hand positions and an intuitive side-mounted locking lever. The ergonomic loop handle supports a natural cutting motion and adjusts without tools — it can also be rotated 90° for compact transport and storage. The single-handed multi-function grip integrates all controls and is suited to both right- and left-handed operators. The stop button automatically returns to the run position after actuation, allowing immediate restart after a break. Summer/winter switching is handled by a simple slider.

The STIHL ADVANCE PLUS universal harness is included as standard, distributing the machine’s weight and making extended operation considerably more comfortable. The FS 461 C-EM is supplied with the AutoCut 46-2 mowing head or BC 300-3 brushcutter blade (depending on the variant selected) and is compatible with grass blades, mulching blades and circular saw blades.
